I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
